Cocker Spaniel

The Cocker Spaniel is a sporting breed with medium build and long coat.

They are considered to be great house pets and while most are happy and gentle, some can be snappish.. They are not overly yappy and require moderate exercise making them good for older folks or apartments. They generally make very good pets for children. They are fairly easy to train. They like moderate and will reward you with love and companionship.

Cocker Spaniels should be “15””” in height. They should weigh between 24 to 28 pounds. They have a long silky coat with long feathered ears. They are medium sized with a domed head and come in a variety of solid colors.

History

Cocker Spaniels are descended from hunting dogs. Although rarely used for hunting these days the Cocker is a popular pet and show dog .

The Cocker Spaniel has a moderate number of medical concerns.. They are prone to infections in their ears and eyes. Careful examination and vetrenary care will keep you dog fit and healthy.

Cocker Spaniels require minimal. He will need to be brushed to keep his fur in good order Other than that regular bathing and the love of his owners should keep him in good shape.
